We open our new season with a feast of Fauré - there is
the major work of the genuinely beautiful Requiem, full of
subtlety and eloquence; then the slighter yet equally
beautiful sacred work of the Cantique de Jean Racine as
well as the PéIleas et Mélisande suite with its exquisite
orchestral colours.
Completing the programme is the
Brahms' short powerful work for chorus and orchestra - Song
of Destiny - with its deeply human and at times radiant
message which acts as an interesting counterpart to the
more introspective French works.
We are delighted to welcome back two soloists who
performed wonderfully with us earlier in the year
soprano Bethany Seymour and baritone David Kimberg
Bedford Sinfonia, under the baton of our Musical Director
Ian Smith complete the impressive line-up.
